What is FRP (Factory Reset Protection)?
Factory Reset Protection is a security method designed to ensure that someone cannot use a stolen smartphone.
Usually thieves do factory reset force it without going through settings, because stolen phone uses screen lock. But now thanks to the FRP feature, even after they did a forced factory reset, they still need the last Google account information to be able to use the smartphone.
The goal is to reduce smartphone theft. Thanks to this FRP feature stolen phone is useless. This should make thieves aware that smartphones are no longer a lucrative target for theft.
What If Your Own Smartphone Is Locked?
