4 Types of BPJS Employment

Actually what is BPJS Employment? BPJS Employment is regulated in Law No. 40 of 2004 related to the National Social Security System.

Previously, BPJS Employment was named PT Jamsostek. However, since January 1, 2014 the name has changed to BPJS Employment.

And most importantly, Every company is required to register all employees who have worked for at least 6 months to join this program.

1. Old Age Security Program (JHT)

JHT aims to ensure that workers do not experience economic hardship. Especially when the JHT participants have entered their old age.

  • JHT can be disbursed by 10% or 30% if you are still active as a worker and have a total working time of 10 years.

2. Work Accident Insurance Program (JKK)

For the medium risk level, the JKK contribution is 0.89% of a month's wage. high risk level, the amount of the JKK contribution is 1.27% of the monthly wage For the very high risk level, the amount of the JKK contribution is 0.74% of the monthly wage

3. Death Insurance Program (JKM)

JKM benefits will be given to the heirs of BPJS Employment participants, when the participant dies not due to a work accident or illness due to work.

The condition is that participants are still in active working status or have not reached retirement age (56 years).

  • The form of JKM compensation is in the form of cash compensation and funeral costs.

  • Cash compensation of Rp. 16,200,000 and periodic compensation of 24 times Rp. 200,000, or Rp. 4,800,000 which is paid at once.

  • For participants who have paid BPJS Employment contributions for at least 5 years, they will receive a funeral fee of Rp. 3,000,000 and an educational scholarship for their children of Rp. 12,000,000.

4. Pension Guarantee Program (JP)

JP's goal is to ensure a better life for BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants when they enter retirement age, at the age of 56 years.

  • The contribution is 3% (2% paid by the company/employer and 1% paid by the employee)

  • Funds will be given every month to BPJS Employment participants as long as they are still alive after the age of 56 years.
