From clan Lan, we meet Lan Wangji (Wang Yibo), a young fighter who has very high abilities and is nicknamed Hanguang-Jun.

With his serious and elegant personality and pure conscience, Wang Ji is often used as a role model by other young fighters.

This is in stark contrast to the fighter from the clan Jiang, Wei Wuxian (Sean Xiao), which uses the element of death as the energy source of its martial power.

Although the jovial Wuxian had a completely opposite personality to Wang Ji, the two of them eventually became close friends.

On the adventure of the two of them, Wang Ji and Wuxian discovered the evil plan of the clan leader Wen that can destroy the world.

Unfortunately, the discovery of the two of them made the clan members Wen the innocent are also hated and Wuxian must lose his life in protecting them.

Wuxian's death made Wang Ji fall into a depression before Wuxian suddenly reincarnated 16 years later.
