The story begins with a robot named Mother who nourishes the human embryo and cares for the human as if it were his own child.
The embryo grows until it becomes a teenager. Mother named the child Daughter. Not only caring, Mother also teaches Daughter about complex ethics and morals.
Mother says that contact with the outside world can lead to death after the world is devastated by the apocalypse.
Daughter became more and more curious about the outside world. One day, he saw a strange woman outside the bunker asking for help.
Daughter saves the woman and hides her so that Mother does not know. The woman told him everything about the outside world.
The woman's story is different from what Mother has been taught so far. This made him confused as to which side to trust.
