6 Easy Ways to Move Old Data to a New Android Smartphone

Here JalanTikus shares three methods that you can use, namely with Google, the choice provided by the manufacturer, and with third-party applications.

Google

For each account, Google always provides 15 GB of cloud storage for free that you can use to store your data, from photos, documents, to videos even via Google Drive service. In this first method, you will use the Google Drive service to move data from your old smartphone to your new smartphone.

First of all, make sure you have enough Google Drive storage left to store the data you want to move check in drive.google.com. If that feels like enough, the next thing you should do is go to Settings > Backup and reset, then activate Automatic restore and make sure your Google account is the account that will be used for backups. Then tap "Backup my data".

This feature itself will save all data related to Google Calendar, Wi-Fi that has been saved, Wallpaper home screen, Gmail Settings, date and time, data and settings from third-party applications. For photos and music, the Google Photos and Google Music applications will automatically back up every photo and music on your smartphone.

To restore data that you have backed up on your old smartphone, when your new smartphone is first booted, fill in Google account you that you use to back up the data on your old smartphone, then press Restore.

Copy My Data

Of all the applications on the Google Play Store that have the function to transfer data, this application is the one that JalanTikus thinks is the simplest and 'right on target'. You just need connect your new and old smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network and open the Copy My Data application on both your smartphones.

If it is already, tap 'To or from another device over WiFi' on your new smartphone and wait until this application detects your old smartphone. When detected, click on your new smartphone and **4 digit PIN** will appear on the screen of your old smartphone and enter it on the new smartphone.
